Monthly members open evenings
All members are invited to join us in the Cross Keys on the second Thursday of the month @7:30pm. We are interested in any ideas of subjects about which our members would like to learn about and which could be included in our next lot of talks
This will be run by HARP Archaeology in the same manner as 2023. There will be students here from all over Europe and the USA. If you are a member of ADHS you will have first chance at booking a place to dig alongside the students and the archaeologists in charge of the project. There are 10 places available in each morning or afternoon session.
If you have still to pay your annual subscription (which of course covers all the Winter Talks) then please get in touch with our Treasurer at treasurer@adhs.co.uk
Once we know that our own members have booked places the opportunity will be opened to the wider community.
The first day, Tuesday 2nd, will involve marking out areas and removing topsoil etc. Saturday 13th will be when the various sites begin to be backfilled after a final recording session.
*** Importantly, we will need help in the tent with a variety of extra duties. This may be signing in and out any volunteers or sorting through finds brought down to the tent. If you can help in any way please contact us on info@adhs.co.uk.
There will be an Open Day on Saturday 6th when the wider public can visit the site to see progress and there will shortly be tickets available for a Barbecue on Sunday 7th . This will be at the Old Mill (kindly organised by Karen Vallance) priced at £10.
